"Welcome to the Grottoes of North America's Web Site."

Welcome to the Grottoes of North America WEB site. As Grand Monarch I greet you on behalf of all the members of the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm.

It is my pleasure to greet you as you peruse the internet address of the Grottoes of North America. I have been elected to represent this philanthropic organization for the upcoming year and am excited that you took the time to visit with us. Technically my title is Grand Monarch, however, it is my desire to be someone that each member can call on if the need arises. I want to be of service to our members and I plan to meet that goal.

We started as an informal group of Master Masons who met on a social level in Hamilton, NY for fun and fellowship. Having our beginnings in 1889 we found acceptance for our order throughout the United States and Canada. Due to the obvious need of an organization of our type the Supreme Council of the Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm was soon brought to fruition. It was by virtue of the farsightedness of our members that recognition came to us so quickly.

It was inevitable that our organization should find a philanthropic area in which to channel the expertise of our membership. One that was worthy of our earnest labors and one that was a benefit for those who were least able to help themselves; children. Yes children; assisting children became our passion. In 1970 the Humanitarian Foundation was formed to assist in finding a cure for Cerebral Palsy in children by providing financial support for researchers. However, this was not enough, subsequently we began providing dental care for children with special needs, this extends not only to those with Cerebral Palsy, but also to children with Muscular Dystrophy; Mental Retardation, and Organ Transplants recipients. This passion not only permeates the Supreme Council, but spreads to each Grotto throughout North America. Our local Grottoes work diligently to provide services for children within their communities, as well as supporting our Humanitarian Foundation through the purchase of enchanted lanterns.

To ensure quality care for children we support the Advocate Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and the Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

I encourage you to browse the rest of our site, hopefully you will find something beneficial.
